Good morning how you traveling today hope your dreaming is blessed,my name is David Gookegen Nanangi Peters, I am a young pititinjara Man, I currently live on Kabbi Kabbi/Gubbi Gubbi, Country, (Sunshine Coast) for a few years I have successfully maintain my ancestral heritage by providing traditional games for Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Australian's, we currently hold a space in CottonTree park that we use every Sunday ""Every Sunday"", it would be great to be able to provide more equipment, and opportunities for other human brothers and sisters, as I hand make all equipment my self , and free of charge at the moment of course a new space not so public and more designed for our purpose, to provide a safe and secure place to practice safely and without prejudice, we currently have about 30kids turn up on a regular basis which is solid our dream is to have a space large enough to run multiple Traditional Games, we want people to love them as much as us, and I'm sure they will given the opportunity🌳🌏👣
What an excellent opportunity for our mob here, very rare you see great role models stepping up and teaching traditional games and dance. GMU absolutely show so much love and compassion in their community and have for many years, and many more to come! Keep up the great work my brothers. You make me proud and strong knowing our next generation have uncles like you 😍[-0-]
Truly amazing what Gmu Traditional Games is achieving, after a recent conversation with an non Indigenous person how they had the belief there was a small population of Indigenous on the coast, which is untrue. That day we went to Cotton Tree Park and to his amazement Indigenous people playing traditional games, yarning and connecting with each other. Thank you David and GMU for providing this important cultural opportunity not only for our children but 'the bigger kids' too!
