Good Day to you all, Our dojo in Noosa is a very successful dojo with competing athletes travelling locally, Interstate and Internationally to compete. I run the fundraising for our team of athletes to attend the yearly Nationals event which is a selection only event of the best competitors from each state. Over the past 3 years our athletes have competed so well against all QLD karate schools at QLD State Titles to take out the Best and Fairest dojo, 3 years in a row. This year we have been extremely fortunate to have 21 athletes selected from our club to be on the QLD team and represent our state at The Australian Karate Nationals in August in Sydney. Every Saturday our team travels to Brisbane for state training with our states top coaches. Karate is not inline for any government funding so all athletes support themselves financially. 2020 will see Karate enter the Olympic games and hopefully pathing the way for many talented athletes to pursue their dreams. Our team of 21 consists of athletes from 8 years old to 48 years young. They are all dedicated to their karate, training 5-7 days a week. We have done some raffles and are on a wait list to host a BBQ at our local bunnings to help raise funds to help our athletes out even just a little bit. Each athlete faces a cost of $2,000+ for flights, accom, entry fees and daily transfers just for this 1 major event for the year. Plus most being juniors parents are requried to attend so the cost increases again. $300 - $1,000 for our athletes would mean savings of every athletes event entry fee. Every financial saving we can help the parents and athletes with is a significant bonus. Our athletes are very motivated to be onboard any fundraising we have. Last month we had 40 volunteers from our club including athletes, parents, siblings and grandparents give up there Sunday to assist at the Noosa run, not only did they have a great bonding day helping with a local sports event but the team also recieved a small donation into their fundraising account to go towards our athletes trip. Any assistance our team was to receive would be greatly appreciated.
Such a deserving team... these kids work so hard, stay so motivated and constantly inspire the rest of us who love to watch them train and compete. It's wonderful seeing them thrive and develop in such a supportive and respectful environment. Good Luck at the Nationals guys...do your best and keep smiling!! 😀😀
