Algester State School is a bustling community situated in the heart of South Brisbane. Our school would love to receive $1000 towards our Visual Arts Evening. The money can be used to cover the costs of this wonderful event; for example, funding enhancement programs, canvases, tools, TRS, equipment, materials and items needed for this night to go ahead successfully. Visual arts education provides opportunities for all students to perceive, respond to, create and communicate through images allowing them to experience and apply throughout their lives the power, ideas, and emotions expressed in visual images. Through the arts, students develop skills like resilience, grit, and a growth mindset to help them master their craft, do well academically, and succeed in life after high school.

The visual arts:
• are fundamental to the development of individual potential, social responsibility, and cultural awareness
• contribute to the intellectual, aesthetic, emotional, social, and physical development of the individual
• provide students with pleasure, enjoyment, and a deepened awareness of themselves and their place in their environment, community, and culture
